Nelson’s Review:

Maid is a Netflix series that takes you on a roller coaster of emotions from beginning to end. Author and writer Stephanie Land paints a vivid picture of what it took for her as a young single mother to escape her current situation at home. The cast had stellar performances, from Andie MacDowell and Margaret Qualley to the little five-year-old Maddy. If there was ever an underdog story where the chips were stacked against you, this is it. It’s gritty and gives you a firsthand account of DV, mental health, and a poorly managed government assistance program that seemed to want to close doors instead of lending a hand.

I give Maid on Netflix 5 out of 5 stars.
