Heather’s Review:

Wondery makes the best podcasts. Hands down.

I have only finished Season 1 of Something Was Wrong, but I have to tell you, there is so much I love about this podcast.

First and foremost, I LOVE that Tiffany doesn’t divulge the guy’s name in Season 1. She makes this podcast about Sara and her story and does everything to ensure that his true identity is kept a secret for many reasons, but primarily so that they aren’t giving him any publicity. Of course, I am curious and wonder if getting his name out there would stop future victims.

I’m excited to listen to the rest of the seasons.

Update: I’m now on Season 4, and unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be continuing. I understand that Tiffany wants to educate her listeners on the topics at hand, but it’s become more like a classroom and less of a platform for people to share their stories. I fast-forwarded 10-15 minutes into every episode. The ads have increased to the point where we finally get into the story, and it’s already time for a break.

There is a lot of religion tied into each season. I am unaware if this is intentional or coincidence, but it does reach a level that is uncomfortable for myself and possibly others who don’t practice the same religion. I was extra excited about Season 4 since I’ve always been fascinated by cults and what makes people join them, but I found the first few episodes to be very scattered, and I had trouble following the story.

I give Something Was Wrong 3.5 out of 5 stars.
