Alice’s Review:
I’m usually not a fan of historical fiction, however, when it’s in a horror setting and done right, it definitely works, and this book nailed it. The first 2/3 of the book was relatively slow-paced with some horror and conflict sprinkled in, but the last third is where it all came together. One part (I don’t want to give too much) showed how easily people can get swept away by fear, which angered me on behalf of the main character. Overall it was a very well-written book with a captivating story. I definitely will be checking out more by this author.
I give Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery by Brom 5 out of 5 stars.
