Podcast Summary:
It happened after a man broke into her family’s home through a bathroom window.
A young man went to prison for the crime but was later exonerated through post-conviction DNA testing. The man matching the DNA found in Linda’s bedroom faced charges but would never go to prison. He lives about an hour from the victim, who is now in her forties.
This podcast introduces the stories of the people involved and the places they live. It investigates how this crime and its legal twists expose more significant problems, as a backlog of DNA gets tested and statutes of limitation expire.
Heather’s Review:
I can’t fathom the circumstances behind this horrid story. A small girl was raped in her own home, and a man was wrongly convicted. Two victims and absolutely no resolution for either of them. This podcast was hard to listen to. The tears, the pain, the absolute disregard for the truth. If for no other reason, listen to it so you can hear how strong and brave and incredible this little girl, now in her 40s, turned out.
I give An Absurd Result 5 out of 5 stars.
