Love Fraud on Showtime

Showtime Summary:
This four-part docu-series follows the search for one man, Richard Scott Smith, who, over the past 20 years, used the internet and his dubious charms to prey upon unsuspecting women looking for love — conning them out of their money and dignity. The story unravels in real-time as Smith’s victims band together to seek sweet revenge by turning to a bounty hunter when they feel the justice system has failed them.
Heather’s Review:
I love a good true crime show, but lately, I’ve been getting into these docuseries about men who are serial daters who lie and cheat their way into and out of women’s lives. What I love most about this particular Showtime docuseries is that it’s all thanks to his victims and their relentlessness and drive to ensure that this guy couldn’t take advantage of one more person. It shows what women can do when they come together for the greater good! One of the things I love more about Love Fraud is the constant introduction of new parts to the story. It makes the docuseries easy to binge because they end every episode with a hint of what’s to come. The only reason this particular docuseries didn’t get five stars is that I think they could have kept it going. Four episodes weren’t enough to unpack it all.
I give Love Fraud on Showtime 4.5 out of 5 stars.
