The Locked Door
Author: Freida McFadden
Genre: Mystery, Fiction, Thriller
Some doors are locked for a reason…
While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.
Until the day the police arrived at their front door.
Decades later, Nora’s father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.
Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.
Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her.
As long as they don’t look in her basement.
This was the third Freida McFadden book I read, and I finished it in just two days. I was so intrigued by the story I wound up bringing the book with me on various errands and reading before bed more often than I usually do.
What I love most about Freida McFadden’s books is that there is always more than one twist. You spend your time getting to know each character and trying to determine who did what to whom, and then BAM… you’re hit with something you never saw coming.
The Locked Door was no different. Yet another ending that I wasn’t expecting. If you haven’t read Freida McFadden’s books yet, this is your sign to start. I am currently reading book four and have another four on the shelf waiting for me.
I give The Locked Door by Freida McFadden 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Locked doors always mean secrets! 😀
