Filip’s Review:

The Shawshank Redemption is a film about hope. About people whose lives were taken away before they died. This is the Shawshank, the land of hell and despair.

Okay, but beyond poetic confessions, I’m not surprised that The Shawshank Redemption is a film considered by most to be the best. It has a beautiful and moving story with a fantastic atmosphere, hard to recreate, and extraordinary characters with which we fall in love during the movie.

The acting is very good. I’m shocked that Morgan Freeman didn’t get an Oscar. As well as the whole film. It’s hard to list any minuses of this story. But still, in my opinion, parts of the movie were impossible and not a good idea.

The other downside is the portrayal of prisoners as great people. They are primarily murderers with a broken psyche.

In my opinion, the film is very good. However, I feel that the rating is too high.

I give The Shawshank Redemption on HBO Max 4 out of 5 stars.
