Let’s talk about The Yellow Car, hosted by Ashley Korslien. At the time of Effie Entezari’s murder, she and her husband, Mike, were days away from the start of their divorce trial. But was he wrongly convicted?

Who really killed Effie? The daycare owner and mother of two was shot to death just outside of her apartment in 1989. A man was arrested and spent 16 years in prison for the crime. But Effie’s daughter, Pooneh Gray, is convinced that police got the wrong man.
She’s spent 31 years and over $1 million tailing the people she believes organized a hit on her mother. And now, her team of lawyers, private investigators, and forensics experts – bolstered by recent advancements in DNA technology – are closer than ever to catching who they believe is the real killer.
This podcast is heartbreaking for many reasons. At the top of that list is hearing that Effie’s daughter has spent most of her adult life (and finances) trying to fix what happened to her father in the wake of her mother’s death.
Although I was initially concerned that I wouldn’t be able to follow the scattered thoughts, after the first episode, I found myself ultimately invested and waiting patiently to hear the results of this investigation.
Ashley did a fantastic job luring the listener into the story and keeping us entertained. I genuinely hope there is an update episode in the future and that the family gets the answers they’ve been looking for, for so many years.
I give The Yellow Car 4.5 out of 5 stars.
