Book Summary:

Her classmates may pick on Carrie White, but she has a gift. She can move things with her mind. Doors lock. Candles fall. This is her power and her problem. Then, an act of kindness, as spontaneous as the vicious taunts of her classmates, offers Carrie a chance to be normal…until an unexpected cruelty turns her gift into a weapon of horror and destruction that no one will ever forget.

Jodie’s Review:

Seeing as this was his first book, it wasn’t very scary. I enjoyed it very much, but he got better as time passed. Carrie’s torment from the girls at school and her mother was heart-wrenching! It’s an eye opener as to what bullying can do to a person. Yes, her powers are not very believable in the real world, but the mental abuse and her reactions are. Very good eye-opener thriller!

I give Carrie by Stephen King 4 out of 5 stars.
