Summary:
Irish television and radio presenter Laura Whitmore host this reality dating show, in which a group of single people moves to a luxury villa hoping to find love and the summer of their life. Throughout the series, the presenter drops in unannounced to deliver shock twists and surprise announcements that will test the relationships between the islanders. To remain in their luxury paradise and stand a chance of winning the £50,000 prize, contestants must couple up and win the hearts of each other and the public, as they ultimately decide who stays on `Love Island’ and who goes.
Heather’s Review:
I have watched all eight seasons of Love Island (UK). It’s become my guilty pleasure. You’ll need a good amount of time to get through these episodes. They typically have 60+ episodes per season. I do skip the recaps and the “After Sun” episodes, though. I feel like they are a little redundant. Although all the people on the show have perfect bodies and are gorgeous and don’t represent real life (at least for me), it’s the drama that hooks me every season. My favorite part of Love Island is googling the couples once the season is over to see if they are still together. I would love to see some inclusivity in future seasons.
I give Love Island (UK) on Hulu 3.5 out of 5 stars.
