Nelson’s Review:

This is a coming to grips with life story about a youngster going on a quest to do whatever it takes to save his mom’s life. Great cast and performances by heavyweights actors like Rosario Dawson, Alfred Molina, and Maria Bello, as well as a directorial debut by David Oyelowe (from the movie Selma), who stars as the father to Gunner Boone, played by Lonnie Chavis (from “This Is Us” TV show). I liked the storyline, which is full of imagination mixed with the deep subject matter, not to mention a great existential scene about what happens to us when we pass away.

I give The Water Man on Netflix 4.5 out of 5 stars.
